The Campaign for Wool is a global initiative that aims to promote the use of wool and raise awareness about its many benefits, through a range of activities and events.
The Campaign for Wool has helped to showcase the versatility and durability of wool, and to highlight its potential to reduce our reliance on synthetic materials. The campaign has also helped to foster partnerships between designers, retailers, and wool producers, and to encourage investment in the wool sector. As a result of the campaign’s efforts, there has been a renewed interest in wool among consumers. And a growing demand for sustainable and ethically produced clothing and textiles.
With the King’s support, the Campaign for Wool has been instrumental in promoting the use of wool in fashion, interiors, and other industries.
As a collective, the neighbourhood of Savile Row, Clifford Street, Old Burlington Street, and parts of St James’s. Are celebrating The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III with over a mile of wool bunting. Created by apprentice tailors, the bunting uses red, white, and blue wool fabric from AW Hainsworth and 100% British wool rope from Sustainable Rope ltd, created and founded by Kate Drury, British Wool board member.
The wool bunting is a testament to the quality and versatility of this natural material. And a nod to the long history of wool production in the UK. The bunting will be displayed along Savile Row during the coronation festivities, adding a touch of warmth and texture to the elegant street. This unique celebration of wool is just one of the many ways in which King Charles III’s coronation. Highlighting the importance of sustainable and traditional materials in modern design and fashion.
